Solid Wood Vs Mdf Desks Which Last Longer
When you're investing in a desk you'll use every day, the material matters more than the marketing. Solid wood and MDF each have real strengths and real limitations.
Solid wood desks — hardwoods like oak, maple, or walnut — can last generations. Scratches can be sanded out, water rings can be treated.
MDF offers perfect consistency but has critical weaknesses: water damage is often catastrophic, screw holes strip easily.
For a desk that will be moved or passed down, solid wood wins. For a painted desk in a controlled environment, MDF is adequate.
