Lighting Impacts Performance

Proper office lighting reduces eye strain by up to 50%, improves mood, and increases task accuracy. Most home offices have inadequate lighting.

Three Light Sources You Need

1. Ambient (Overhead)

General room illumination. 300-500 lux at desk level. Ceiling fixture with diffuser to avoid harsh shadows.

2. Task (Desk Lamp)

Focused light on work area. 500-800 lumens reduces eye strain. Position opposite your dominant hand.

3. Bias (Behind Monitor)

LED strip behind monitor reduces screen-surroundings contrast. Dramatically reduces eye fatigue. Use warm white (3000K).

Face a window or position a light in front of you. Never sit with a bright window behind you.
